Summer is the perfect time to explore new opportunities, and what better place to do so than at the U.S. Naval Academy? Whether you dream of attending the Academy someday or are simply looking for a unique and enriching experience, the USNA Summer Seminar and USNA Summer STEM Program offer summer programs for high school students that are gateways to discovery - designed to inspire and challenge students while providing a glimpse into the exceptional education and leadership training the Naval Academy offers.

USNA Summer Seminar: A First Taste of Academy Life

If you’re a rising high school senior, and interested in possibly attending the Naval Academy, the USNA Summer Seminar is your golden opportunity. We strongly recommend enrolling in this one-week program - the ultimate preview of what it’s like to experience first-class academic, athletic, and professional training at the nation’s top-ranked public college.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Immersive Experience: Spend six days living in Bancroft Hall, where midshipmen reside, and take part in academic, athletic, and leadership activities that mirror the Academy’s core pillars.
  • Hands-On Workshops: Participate in workshops that challenge you to think critically and solve problems like a future leader.
  • Preliminary Application: The Summer Seminar application doubles as your preliminary application to the Naval Academy.

This program is designed to help you decide if the Naval Academy is the right fit for you while providing invaluable experiences that will benefit your future no matter where you go.

2025 Dates:

  • Session One: May 31 - June 5 (Saturday - Thursday)
  • Session Two: June 7 - June 12 (Saturday - Thursday)
  • Session Three: June 14 - June 19 (Saturday - Thursday)

Fee:$550 per session - includes lodging, meals, and all clothing to be worn.

USNA Summer STEM: Ignite Your Curiosity

For rising 9th, 10th, and 11th graders passionate about science, technology, engineering, and math, the USNA Summer STEM Program is the ultimate launchpad. This STEM education program is all about exploration, innovation, and hands-on learning in the world-class labs of the Naval Academy.

Here’s what makes USNA Summer STEM a standout:

  • June 2 - 7 (Monday - Saturday): For current 8th graders (rising 9th graders)
  • June 9 - 14 (Monday - Saturday): For current 9th graders (rising 10th graders)
  • June 16 - 20 (Monday - Friday): For current 10th graders (rising 11th graders)

Fee: $750 per session - includes transportation to and from Baltimore Washington Airport and the United States Naval Academy, all meals and lodging, Midshipmen leadership, faculty-led STEM academic modules in world-class labs and classrooms, Technology/Majors Fair, USNA apparel and promotional items, a program picnic, shaved ice night, and much more.
