We offer engaging public tours that immerse you in the life of a midshipman. These tours depart from the Visitor Center frequently, often on the hour, throughout the day. Check our schedule first, as times change throughout the year. Often, we’ll add tour times to meet the demand, so you can book here and then come on over!
We also offer a variety of private tours that feature smaller groups and various themes. Here’s a look at some of our most popular ones:
For a party between two and ten people, you can relax in the comfort of our two electric GEM vans. You’ll cover a lot of ground over a 75 minute tour, from the stately Bancroft Hall to the Parade Ground, the Jewish Chapel, sports complexes, Air Park, Cemetery and more. You’ll see the sights and hear the inside stories on our vast history, our revered heroes and the midshipmen of today from a friendly and knowledgeable guide that knows the ropes. Get the full USNA experience and book your tour here.
History is happening every day here and you can be a part of it! Join us on one of our most popular private walking tours. You’ll hit all the highlights in 90 minutes with enough time to really get a feel for each place. In the fall and spring, you’ll see the riveting Noon Meal Formation. Year-round, you’ll also visit the largest dormitory in the country and the famous Herndon Monument that hosts the rigorous end-of-Plebe-Year rite of passage.
You’ll learn where the midshipmen go for some extra-special exam help, see where they get their spiritual guidance, and even get a gander at the state-of-the-art pool complex that houses the swim and dive teams. By the end of this tour, you’ll have more insight into exactly what it takes to be a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy. And you’ll have some incredible memories to take home too!
For a truly memorable day on the Yard, the three-hour USNA Tour and Tea is an excellent choice. You’ll stroll through the scenery and take in the breathtaking Beaux Arts Buildings. You’ll wander inside the stunning Main Chapel, where a multitude of joyous weddings are celebrated each year. Then you’ll recharge at the newly renovated Naval Academy Club, an elegant venue, formerly the Officer’s Club, that provides refreshing tea and treats, including delicious finger sandwiches and sweets. It’s a more intimate way to experience the U.S. Naval Academy and a great chance to get away to the Yard for the day.
These tours are just the beginning. They’re a small sampling of the many tours we offer, including school and junior programs, as well as one that’s part of our corporate leadership training. We stand ready to guide you on an unforgettable journey around this awe-inspiring place where history happens in real time.
All proceeds from your purchases with us go directly back to the Brigade of Midshipmen, making your tour even better. So not only are you enjoying the Naval Academy, but you’re enhancing it for the midshipmen, too. Come tour the Yard today. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
