The N★ Tradition: Every Victory Tells a Story

By Bill the Goat on Jul 12, 2024, 8:30:00 AM

Summary:

The N★ (N-Star) is a symbol of Navy athletic excellence earned when a Navy varsity team defeats Army in its designated Star competition, continuing a rivalry that began with Army-Navy football in 1890. The tradition celebrates teamwork, determination, and Academy pride across Army-Navy varsity sports, while reflecting the respect and shared commitment to service that unite future military leaders beyond the competition.

We’re proud to welcome thousands of visitors to the Yard each year. We love to see them admire the towering monuments, historic buildings, and famous landmarks that tell the U.S. Naval Academy’s most fascinating stories.
