Perot, one of USNA’s distinguished graduates, captured the imagination of Americans over the course of two unconventional presidential runs. He became one of the most successful third party candidates for American presidents in history, and when you look at his life, you can see why.

We’re welcoming the lazy, breezy days of August to the Yard. Plebe Summer winds down in the middle of the month, and the air is full of Annapolis magic—Chesapeake Bay breezes, bushels of crabs laid out on picnic tables with suds to wash them down—and dogs. Everywhere, dogs! It seems like everyone in Annapolis has a dog these days—there are dogs on boats, dogs on the sidewalk and dogs out on patios with their people, enjoying the sun. We just can’t get enough of dogs!

Back to School shopping is a strange season filled with mixed emotions. Kids, teens and adults heading back often dread trading in their pool and friend time for time in the classroom, and parents and others are dreading the back-to-the-office grind that typically accompanies Back to School, after the vacations have turned into photo memories, sandy car trunks and (hopefully) some lingering tans.
