More than a traditional college student, a midshipman is part of a highly selective program that prepares graduates to lead sailors and Marines while carrying forward the traditions and mission of the U.S. Naval Academy.

If you spend even a short amount of time around Annapolis or the United States Naval Academy, you’ll hear the word “mid” everywhere.

Parents say it proudly. Alumni use it constantly. Visitors hear it on USNA tours. And current students wear the title like a badge of honor.
